Accomplishing All things through Christ

Celebrating 126 years!

To the congregation of First Baptist Church Cherryville:

As you all are aware, COVID-19 (The Coronavirus) has recently become a worldwide pandemic. Our Governor, Roy Cooper, has declared a State of Emergency for North Carolina as the disease continues to spread. We want to inform you that our Pastor, Staff, and Deacons have been monitoring and praying for the situation over the recent days. We ask you to join us in prayer, remembering especially those who have been affected by the virus, those in the healthcare field who are fighting it, the missionaries stationed around the world, and the policymakers seeking to determine the proper response. After many discussions with the City Manager, Mayor, Healthcare Providers, County Government, and State officials, it has been recommended to postpone ALL church activities on campus effective immediately through March 29, 2020.

The situation is ever-changing and the information seems to be coming in by the minute. We will continue to gather information, to monitor the situation, and to pray. If you have any questions, concerns, or need updates, please check our Facebook page first or our website. For emergencies please call 704-435-3796 EXT 3.

We are excited to hear God’s word preached, and hope that you will join us in worship via radio on 1590 AM and 92.3 FM at 11:00 AM. We hope that you will remain faithful in your giving during this State of Emergency. Please mail your tithes and offerings to:

“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.” (Romans 13:1)

To the congregation of First Baptist Church of Cherryville,

We hope you are doing well during this unique time in our history. The pandemic has changed many things in our way of everyday life and the life of our church. We are monitoring the situation daily with our city and county officials and the situation changes daily.
Due to the COVID 19, as of March, 25th all church-wide activities will continue to be postponed until May 31st. You may be aware that Gaston County has made an executive order to stay at home. This is in an effort to help study the curve of the influx to local hospitals. This means you should not leave your home for any non-essential errands. In our county, you are not required to carry special identification or permission slips to leave your home.

It appears that North Carolina has now its first person-to-person, community contact COVID 19 case. This is to say a person has been confirmed with the virus who has not been traveling out of state. Thus, we have now been asked to limit our congregational gatherings to a maximum of 10 people.

Therefore, we will continue to broadcast the preaching of God’s word every Sunday morning at 11:00 am on radio station 1590 on the AM and 92.3 on the FM dial and our online Facebook stream. We ask that you be mindful of your hygiene, social distancing and the Gaston County stay at home order that is in effect until May 31st.
Our building is simply not the same without each and every one of you. We trust that we will soon have the opportunity to gather together in person. Until then, we hope you will watch by Facebook or listen to the live broadcast by radio.
We ask you to join us in prayer, remembering especially those who have been affected by the virus, those in the healthcare field who are risking their lives to save others, our missionaries, our nation, and leaders. We hope that you will remain faithful in your giving during this State of Emergency. Please mail your tithes and offerings to the church at 301 E First Street, Cherryville, NC 28021

May God bless each of you and keep you safe and healthy.
